Following a successful first in-person Town Hall with supporters at Allagash, USL W to Portland is excited to announce the “Leading the Growth of the Grassroots Game” virtual town hall, set to take place Tuesday March 24, with the stream starting at 3:00 PM.
Featuring Sam Coffey (current USWNT & Manchester City player), Michelle Akers (FIFA Player of the Century and 2x World Cup Winner), Sara Whalen Hess (World Cup Winner & Olympic Silver Medalist), and hosted by The Athletic’s Women’s Sports Lead Meg Linehan, this virtual town hall brings some of the most important voices in the history of U.S. women’s soccer together for an open discussion on the growth of the game at the grassroots level.
The town hall is open to all, and is an opportunity for supporters of the women’s game in Portland, around Maine, and beyond to hear from legends of the sport and to share in the dialogue about what they’d hope to see from a women’s team, on and off the pitch.
