Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Letayf Escutia moved to Texas at age eight and developed through the FC Dallas academy. He featured for FC Dallas’s U-17 team at the Liga MX Internacional Tournament and earned five caps with Mexico’s Youth National Team. He then joined Tigres UANL’s U-20 squad before attending Georgetown University, where he made 42 appearances (32 starts) over four seasons. Letayf Escutia served as captain for three consecutive years, and in 2024, he helped the Hoyas win 2 BIG EAST Championships, as well as three league titles, while reaching the NCAA Division I Soccer Championship each of the four years of Diego’s career. 

During the summer of 2026, Letayf Escutia competed with Vermont Green FC in the USL League Two, helping the club capture the 2026 league championship gaining valuable experience in one of the country’s most competitive environments.

“The connection to the fans is what really attracted me to this club at the end of the day, said Letayf Escutia, “I’m a gritty player that will always give you 100%, and I’m super excited to bring that to this squad.”

Letayf Escutía marks the third signing in a week for Hearts of Pine, as the club looks to bolster the squad ahead of the final push in the regular season.

Portland, ME — August 14, 2026 — Hearts of Pine are excited to announced the signing of Argentine striker Felipe Rodriguez Gentile after his departure from EFL Championship side Preston North End.

“Felipe is a very exciting young talent,” said Bobby Murphy, “We were in competition for his signature with a number of Premier League and Championship clubs. We know he will be an exciting addition.”

Rodriguez Gentile moved to England as a teenager and was scouted by Preston North End while playing for Huyton Juniors in the Merseyside and Halewood League. He joined Preston’s youth academy in 2021 and impressed at youth level, scoring a remarkable five goals in a single FA Youth Cup match in the 2022/23 competition, ultimately finishing as joint-top goalscorer in the tournament. His performances earned him a call-up to the Argentina U17 squad preparing for the FIFA U17 World Cup. After progressing through Preston North End’s scholarship program in the EFL Championship, Rodriguez-Gentile was loaned to AFC Fylde for senior experience before signing with Hearts of Pine.

“It’s a young club with a very bright future and I would love to help the team grow,” said Rodriguez Gentile, “I’m at my best when I’m playing for the fans, so the hype and the love this club gets is a big positive for me.”

With 13 games left in the League One regular season, Rodriguez Gentile looks to bring his technical ability, creativity, and goalscoring prowess to the Portland front line.

Portland, ME – August 5, 2026 – Portland Hearts of Pine have announced that striker Dylan Sing has been recalled from his loan by parent club Indy Eleven. 

Sing made four appearances for Hearts in all competitions, tallying a goal against AC Boise. The club thanks Dylan for his professionalism and commitment during his time in Portland and wishes him all the best as he returns to Indianapolis.

Portland, ME — July 1, 2026 — Hearts of Pine are excited to announce the signing of forward Dylan Sing on a short-term loan from USL Championship side Indy Eleven.

“We feel great about bringing Dylan on,” said Hearts Head Coach Bobby Murphy “he’s a young forward with the ability to score goals.” Murphy continued, “Alex recommended him and after doing our homework we believed it was important to bring him to the club.”

After impressing during his college career at Western Michigan University, Sing launched his professional career with Crown Legacy FC in MLS NEXT Pro, leading the team in scoring with eight goals in each of his two seasons. In December 2025, Sing made the move to Indy Eleven, where he has already made an impact by netting two goals in his first ten USL Championship appearances.

Sing pointed to the atmosphere at Fitzpatrick stadium as one of the driving forces for his move to Hearts, “I’’ve heard such great things about the fan atmosphere,” he said, “I can’t wait to experience the home field advantage.”

Alongside Portland’s vibrant fanbase, Sing also looks forward to connecting with a former college teammate Hunter Morse at Hearts, “I’m excited to share the pitch with him again. It’ll be a nice reunion from our time together at Western Michigan.”

Hearts can also confirm that as per the terms of his performance based contract, Ernest Mensah Jr. has left the club with immediate effect. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

PORTLAND, Maine — Portland Hearts of Pine announced today that the club has acquired midfielder Diego Gonzalez on loan from Houston Dynamo 2.

“We are excited to get this deal done for Diego,” said Hearts of Pine Head Coach Bobby Murphy. “He is an exciting young talent who fills a need for us in the attacking midfield area, and we’re looking forward to bringing him into the group.”

Gonzalez joins Hearts with experience across the Houston Dynamo player pathway, having developed through the club’s academy before signing his first professional contract with Houston Dynamo 2. A Houston native, Gonzalez has been part of the Dynamo system since joining the academy as a youth player and has gone on to establish himself as a dynamic midfield presence in MLS NEXT Pro.

Gonzalez enjoyed a standout 2024 season with Houston Dynamo 2, logging nearly 2,500 minutes, scoring six goals, and co-leading MLS NEXT Pro with 10 assists. His performances earned him a place on the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and helped position him as one of the league’s top midfielders.

In 2025, Gonzalez continued to push toward first-team opportunities before a training injury interrupted his momentum and forced him into a long recovery process. Since returning to the field, he has continued working back into form while adding versatility to his game, including time in a deeper midfield role.

His arrival adds another high-level option to a Hearts midfield group that has been central to Portland’s identity this season, while also providing important depth as the club navigates injuries and the demands of the USL League One schedule.

Known as an attacking midfielder with the ability to impact the game in possession, Gonzalez brings technical quality, vision, and experience to the Hearts midfield. His addition gives Portland another option in central areas as the club continues through the season.

Hearts of Pine have signed 26-year-old defender Joshua Drack, adding a versatile option at left back to the squad for the 2026 USL League One season.

Drack brings a range of professional experience having been selected 16th overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy, along with spending time with Huntsville City FC, Charleston Battery, and Westchester SC before making the move to Hearts. With a high-energy style of play that aligns with Head Coach Bobby Murphy’s system, Murphy expects Drack to be a strong fit on and off the pitch.

“We are excited to add Josh,” said Murphy. “He’s a player both Yuta and I have been aware of since his college days. We believe his ability and experience will be a tremendous asset moving forward.”

“It’s the people, the club, and the style of play,” said Drack. “It’s high tempo, high energy. That really fits how I play. It just felt like a great fit all around.”

Drack is no stranger to Fitzpatrick Stadium, having previously experienced the atmosphere from the opposing side last season with Westchester SC, that match left a lasting impression.

“It was so fun. You don’t see that everywhere in this league,” he said. “The whole experience felt like real professional soccer. I’m just really excited to be on this side of it now.”

As he settles into the group, Drack is ready to contribute and connect with supporters.

“Hearts fans can expect me to be high energy, vocal, and working hard the whole game,” said Drack. “Things won’t always go perfectly, but my effort will always be there.”

Portland Hearts of Pine are excited to announce the signing of midfielder Tyler Huck. Huck joins the Hearts after wrapping up a successful collegiate career with Bowdoin College.

“I’m a versatile player who can play in a few different spots, but I’m definitely more attack-minded, ” said Huck, “I like getting forward, creating chances, and scoring goals. I was able to contribute with a couple goals in preseason, so I’d love to keep that going when the games really matter.”

“Tyler has been such an impactful student-athlete for our program and campus since the day he arrived in Brunswick four years ago,” said Bowdoin Men’s Soccer Head Coach Scott Wiercinski, “He scores crucial goals and has an excellent intellect for the game.  He will give every ounce of his passion to his teammates, coaches and the entire Hearts organization. Hearts fans will soon get to see what we have been watching for the past 4 years.”

Originally from Ross, California, Huck made the move to Maine in 2022 and immediately became a key player for the Polar Bears. As a freshman, he appeared in 20 games with 18 starts, scoring 4 goals and recording 3 assists—a performance that earned him NESCAC Rookie of the Year. Over his Bowdoin career, Huck finished with 34 goals, 19 assists, three First Team All-NESCAC selections, and the 2025 NESCAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year Award. Off the field, he was named to the Academic All-American First Team, marking Bowdoin men’s soccer’s first selection for the honor since 2000.

“Tyler came in initially to just train,” said Head Coach Bobby Murphy, “Each day he continued to impress the staff and his teammates. He has good feet and good brains and will be a great addition.”

“I was lucky enough to be in Maine last year, so I really felt the energy around the club. It was hard not to get caught up in it,” said Huck, “It’s incredible. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it in U.S. soccer. The energy is amazing, and it’s going to be a completely new experience for me as a player.”

“Playing professional soccer is a dream come true for me. I know how much this team means to the community here, so I want fans to know I’m going to give absolutely everything I have every time I step on the field. I won’t take this opportunity for granted.”
