Hearts of Pine seeks to build up a network of experienced Public Address enthusiasts to help us enhance the fan
experience. Responsibilities include announcing starting lineups, in-game updates (goals,
substitutions, yellow/red cards), and partner messages, while maintaining a professional,
unbiased tone.
Core Responsibilities
● In-Game Announcements: Clearly communicate match events as they happen, including
goals (and scorers), substitutions, yellow/red cards, and extra time.
● Pre-Match & Post-Match Procedures: Introduce starting lineups, coaches, and match
officials; announce national anthems; and conduct post-game closing remarks.
● Script Execution: Deliver sponsored “reads,”, and in-game promotions exactly as written
in the official game day script.
● Crowd Engagement: Use voice inflection and personality to energize the crowd during
key moments, such as player introductions or halftime festivities.
● Emergency & Safety Communication: Calmly and clearly deliver emergency instructions
or weather-related updates (e.g., lightning delays) to ensure spectator safety.
● Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations, Fan Experience teams and audio
technicians to ensure timing aligns with music and on and off-field activities.

Qualifications
Requirements & Skills
- Age 21+
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
- Vocal Clarity: A strong, articulate, and engaging speaking voice suitable for large stadium environments.
- Soccer Expertise: Extensive knowledge of soccer rules, terminology, and the ability to accurately pronounce difficult international player names.
- Professionalism: Ability to remain emotionally neutral and unbiased, refraining from criticizing officials or inciting crowd hostility.
- Adaptability: Quick thinking to handle unscripted events or sudden lineup changes.
Work Schedule Details
- This is a part-time, seasonal role that takes place at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland. Arrival is
typically required 90-minutes before gates open for rehearsal, setup and assist the press
box team/opps team in breakdown and clean up.

‘Moxie the Moose’ Mascot Audition Applicaiton

The Official Team Mascot, “Moxie the Moose,” is a highly energetic, engaging, and visible representative of the Hearts of Pine soccer club, responsible for creating a fun, memorable, and family-friendly atmosphere at games and events. The mascot serves as a primary ambassador for the team, interacting with fans of all ages, participating in on-field promotions, and upholding the positive image of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Game Day Performance
- Maintain an engaging and dynamic presence throughout all home games, participating in pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment routines.
- Execute spontaneous interactions with fans, focusing on creating positive experiences & photo opportunities.
- Work in conjunction with the marketing and promotions team to execute on-field and off-field promotions, fulfilling any sponsorship obligations.
Fan Engagement
- Represent the team positively at all times while in character.
- Enthusiastically interact with and entertain fans, particularly children, maintaining a high level of energy and non-verbal communication.
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Prior experience as a mascot or costumed character in a professional, collegiate, or minor league sports setting is a significant plus.
- Background in dance, cheerleading, theatre, or physical comedy.
- Must be available to work all home games.
- Must be in the height range of 5’10 and 6’3.
- Ability to withstand a heavy costume in various temperature conditions, approximately (4) hours at a time.
- Must be capable of high-energy movements, including dancing, running, jumping etc.
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, and creativity. Excellent non-verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with large crowds.

National Anthem Singer Submissions
Expand to Submit for National Anthem Singer
Please submit an unedited video file of you or your ensemble performing the United States National Anthem.
All recordings must exclude extra instrumentation, additional singers or performers that will NOT be involved in performing at Fitzpatrick Stadium during Hearts of Pine matches you may be scheduled for. File types acceptable: .MOV, .MP4.
When submitting a video, all performers MUST BE be in frame and actively performing their assigned parts.
All auditions for the 2026 National Anthem at Hearts of Pine home matches must be submitted by Friday, March 13, 2026 at 11:00PM EST.
All auditions will hear back whether they are selected or not by March 20, 2026.
Those who are selected will receive their performance date and information before April 4, 2026. All national anthem performances, regardless of group size, will receive (4) tickets to the match that they are performing at.
