BIOGRAPHY
Khalid Hersi (ka-LEED HER-shee) returns to Portland Hearts of Pine for his second season as the first-ever Mainer to sign with the club.
A native of Lewiston, Khalid grew up in a soccer-loving Somali family and played at Lewiston High School, where in 2019 he appeared in the state final as a freshman alongside his older brother Bilal. In 2023, he joined the University of Southern Maine men’s soccer team and more recently starred for Wahda United FC in the UPSL, earning a spot on the UPSL Team of the Season.
Returning for year two, Khalid is excited to continue representing Maine professionally—a milestone that makes him proud for both his family and the local soccer community, while inspiring the next generation of players.
