VP of Marketing and Communications
Hi folks, I’m Brian, the VP of Marketing with Hearts of Pine. I’m a native Mainer and was born and raised in Freeport. I’m a current resident of Windham, where I live with my partner and our two dogs, Jeff and Cedar. I’ve spent most of my career working in the sports, entertainment, and lifestyle worlds on both the agency and brand side of the table. I’ve been fortunate to work with some incredible teams, leagues, and brands, and I spent the past few years as the head of marketing for the iconic Maine boatbuilder Sabre Yachts and sister-company Back Cove Yachts.
My connection to Hearts of Pine goes back to the very beginning of the movement to bring a USL team to Portland, so I have a pretty unique perspective on the work we are doing! Soccer was the very first organized sport that I played, starting at the age of 5, and it has been a part of my life ever since. I played comepetitively through college and while my competitive days ended there, I have been able to stay involved as a coach and fan since my ‘retirement’. Spending as much time around the game as I have, you can’t help but to see the impact the sport has far beyond the playing field… it brings communities together in a way that very few things can! When the opportunity to join this club came along, it was a no-brainer to jump into it full time. I’m incredibly excited to see the positive impact Hearts has made in such a short period of time, and it is only the start of all of the great things that we’re planning for our Maine Soccer community!
When I’m not at work, you’ll most likely find me on the shores of Long Lake or somewhere in the woods on an adventure with the dogs, no matter the season. Some of my favorite spots are Pettengill Farm in Freeport, Hermit Island in Phippsburg, Reid State Park in Georgetown, and Eagle Island out in Casco Bay.
